Hydranautics, a Nitto Group company, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of membrane products for water and wastewater treatment. Their membranes are primarily based on spiral-wound technology and are used in Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nanofiltration (NF), Ultrafiltration (UF), and Microfiltration (MF) systems. Here is a detailed description of the various types of Hydranautics membranes: 1. Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membranes These are the most common Hydranautics products, designed to remove dissolved salts and organic contaminants. They are categorized by their application: SWC (Seawater Composite): Designed for high-salinity water. These membranes offer high salt rejection (up to 99.8%) and are used to turn seawater into potable water. CPA (Composite Polyamide): The industry standard for brackish water desalination. They are known for producing high-purity water for power generation and industrial processes. LFC (Low Fouling Composite): Specially treated to have a hydrophilic surface and neutral charge, which reduces the tendency of organic matter and colloids to stick to the membrane. These are ideal for treated wastewater reclamation. ESPA (Energy Saving Polyamide): Designed to operate at significantly lower pressures while maintaining high flux, which helps reduce energy costs in large-scale municipal and industrial plants.
